Ya'all know the Merlin is turned into a cat AU. Now, get ready for... Not that.

Gwen and Merlin find a black Cat with blue eyes and decide to adopt it because it's so cute. Gwen makes fun of the cat by saying it has manners like Merlin. Merlin joins the fun by putting his neckkerchief around the cats neck.

Then Merlin leaves to have an epic sorcerer rap battle with Morgana or smth.

When Arthur finds the cat, Gwen is running after it, calling it 'Merlin'.

It takes a while but eventually, day 2 of absent human Merlin comes around and Arthur-I-know-magic-when-I-see-it-Pendragon connects the dots and now thinks Merlin was turned into a cat.

King Arthur: Merlin, you can't get out of the council meeting by being a cat!

I'd definitely want a Merlin game that you can play on Xbox/PS/PC or it could be a cute mobile game.

Merlin but it's got Neko Atsume vibes. Hear me out besties.

You're a cat person living in the city or countryside (you pick where you live and what your house looks like), you get a stray cat in your backyard.

That's your first encounter with a cat and of course you gotta leave out food for them and find what they like so you can entice them to your home which if you manage to do it, they can permanently stay at one of your houses/rooms (you buy it from the in-game store with the money you earn from doing quests) and you unlock special furniture/clothing items the more time you spend with each Merlin cat.

Eg: Mewlin likes: animal plushies, butterflies, flowers, cuddling Arfurr. You have unlocked different style neckerchiefs.

Arfurr Purrdragon likes: toy swords, napping in the sun with Mewlin, cardboard boxes, chasing Mewlin. You have unlocked Excaliber.

Meowgana Le Fur: toy swords, playing with Gwennyfurr, ball of yarn. You have unlocked crystal ball.

Gwennyfurr: flowers, fireplace, playing with Meowgana. You have unlocked floral dresses.

I'm just saying, I want to play this kind of game lol

The other day, I drew Merlin as a cat. It was a very quick little doodle for a game in the Land of Myth discord server.

Then Milky_Etoile posted their lovely fic about a cat who looks exactly like this one. So I’ve shared it here, with encouragement to go read her wonderful story about a black cat with a red necktie, and a magical quill ☺️

It's the modern ages.

In a small apartment in the middle of London lives a man named Arthur. He is blond. He is tall. He loves Chicken and cake and does his best to defy his father's every expectations on his way to become a designer. He's bi and out and works on the side in a little queer themed restaurant.

A couple days ago he's been visited by a strange looking cat. To be fair, all cats are strange. This one, however, looks positively struck whenever Arthur so much as turns his head. He crossed him in one of the shortcut alleys outside his apartment. Arthur uses them to get to the supermarket. They shared one glance, and suddenly the creature sat on his window sill that same evening.

Now, it had been cold and icey outside and Arthur had always liked cats, so he invited him in.

So far, the cat has done nothing but stare. He sat on that sill with the open window for an hour before he left. Arthur found that odd, and rude, since it was snowing outside and heating bills were ridiculously high this time of the year.

The next day, the cat found him again. Arthur hesitated to let him in. When he did, he stupidly reasoned with the cat. Oddly enough, it hushed through the open window, as if it understood.

And now it's been following Arthur around ever since. Once, Arthur locked the cat in, but it somehow materialised in his workplace anyways.

"i'm pretty sure he's stalking me.", Arthur mentioned to Gwen once, after explaining the Situation to her. "He doesn't eat any food I give him. He's not even making a mess. He just stares at me."

"you're dilirious. That's a cat.", Gwen says and scratches it's head, because of course the cat loves her.

"That cat -"

"cats are strange, Arthur. What, you think he's onto you? What for? Did you rob a bank?"

"i don't know. I haven't done anything. And he hasn't done anything either.... There is something about this cat, I just can't put my finger on it."

The cat miau'ed. It hasn't done that once since Arthur met him. Arthur blinked at it. Mouth wide open. "Did you hear that?"

Gwen snorts. "Wow, yes Arthur. It miaus. What an odd creature indeed."

"I'm sorry. I've been a cat for so long, I forgot to change my voice. I'm Merlin."

Slowly, they both turn their heads. The cat grins. "What? Only 1500 years and you already forgot about me?"

"you're a cat.", Arthur deadpans.

The Cat winks and suddenly there is no cat anymore, but the most beautiful man Arthur had ever seen. And he met Lancelot.

Arthur swallows, suddenly very aware of the fact that he had already changed in front of this man and can only stutter a few intelligable words.

Gwen has more sense than that:

Elyan: [sweating nervously, trying not to look at the glaring golden cat aka King Arthur]

Cat Arthur: [hissing to Merlin to get his furry arse out of Elyan's arms]

Cat Merlin: [leans up and rubs his head affectionately under Elyan's chin, then looking down at Arthur with a "make me you cabbagey catpole!"]

Elyan: [Internally begging Gwen or Lancelot to return already whilst also hoping Arthur doesn't scratch him with those sharp-looking claws]

I imagine Merlin having a cat mum and a bird dad, a tiny kitten with wings, a very magical bebe who'll eventually shape-shift into a human.

Cat mum finds him odd but adorable, she thinks he's a bit like his father a bird made of magic and warm feathers although her bebe Merlin takes after her in appearance; elegance covered in silky black fur with golden eyes, her mate has said he loves her shiny eyes hence he brings her pretty stones and gems for their nest. She purrs happily as her bebe Merlin wiggles beside her playing with the ruby her mate gifted to their youngest.

All their children were either cats or birds, yet bebe merlin is a purrfect mixture of her and her crow mate, the only birb kitty in all her litters. In a sense she is most protective of him, her crow mate has said he can shape shift into a human one day to fulfill his destiny.

She has asked what the fates has chosen for their bebe Merlin, crow dad has had glimpses of their youngest hatchling's future and mentioned a shiny crown, dragons, and dresses.

"Dragons? They're flying lizards are they not?" She questions her mate, who cackled and nodded yes.

"What are dresses?" She meows, her head nudging at bebe Merlin who was sleeping curled up around the ruby in his paws, her crow mate hopped next to their birb cub, softly pecking bebe Merlin's furry head and ears.

Head tilting, crow father answered.

"Something that humans wear I think, they don't have feathers or fur like you and I do."

"Will we need them for bebe Merlin?"

Crow father takes a second to think before nodding.

"Yes. A lot of dresses. Our bebe Merlin will grow bigger than his siblings and once he turns human he will not have much feathers or fur to keep him warm."

Cat mother stared down at her bebe Merlin snoozing.

"Then we shall start soon as possible. Where can we find them?"

Crow father chirped in delight.

"There are these humans who have magic, witches I believe they're called, they sometimes summon my crow sisters. I can ask them to bring back shiny dresses instead of shiny stones!"

"That's a start, we can see if there are other ways to get them yes?"

"Of course my love, we'll have plenty for our bebe Merlin!"
